Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 July 2026

SkillUp (“we”, “us”, accessible at www.skillup.sg) is a career guidance platform for Singapore. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We comply with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).

What we collect

Cookies and advertising

We use cookies for analytics and advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve personalised ads based on your browsing.

AI processing (Resume Checker)

The Resume Checker analyses the text you paste using a third-party AI service (Google's Gemini API). Your submission is sent to that service to generate feedback and is subject to Google's data handling terms. We do not use your resume to train AI models, and we recommend removing sensitive personal data (NRIC numbers, home addresses, salary history you don't wish to share) before submitting.

How we use your data

We do not sell your personal data.

Who we share data with

We use trusted service providers to run SkillUp: Google (sign-in, analytics, advertising, and AI processing as described above) and Vercel (website hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. We may also disclose data where required by law.

Retention and security

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above, after which it is deleted or anonymised. Data in transit is encrypted (HTTPS). No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable measures consistent with PDPA obligations.

Your rights

Under the PDPA, you may request access to or correction of your personal data, or withdraw consent to its collection and use. To make a request, reach us through the contact form on our About page. We will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

SkillUp is intended for people exploring careers, including students. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without parental consent. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date above.
